What is the adoption process?
Our adoption process is pretty straight forward. Any one adopting a dog must be 18 years of age or older. We do a prescreening application and will ask you several questions about your living situation and how the dog will fit into your current lifestyle. Renter’s must have approval from their landlord prior to adoption. We will not place a hold on any dog that is availalble for adoption. Dogs are adopted on a best home basis which means we want to place our dogs in the best home and if a dog has multiple adoption applications, the selection of the most suitable adopter will be made by our staff as to what we feel is the best situation for the dog and the best match.
We require that all members of the family meet with the dog as well as any other dogs in the household. We will waive this requirement for elderly senior family dogs that may cause stress by bringing the dog to the humane society. We do not require families with cats to bring their cat(s) to the humane society but will test any dog going into a home with cats with our cats in our Cattery.
