Thank you for your interest in volunteering with The Humane Society of the South Platte Valley. Every day we rely on dedicated volunteers to help us with daily operations, quality of life for our animals, special events, and adoptions of our dogs, cats, and other animals that we have at our shelter.
Our mission is to be a leader in saving lives and serving communities by providing innovative care for our animals, finding loving homes, and reuniting families.
In order to achieve our mission, we rely on people like you to donate their time, effort, skills, and funds, so we can all succeed in saving our animals and educating the community on animal welfare. Volunteers provide a great resource for The Humane Society of The South Platte Valley. Your donated hours help our animals stay socialized, find loving homes, help us receive grants, and build a strong organization.
You may begin volunteering after you attend orientation. Orientation will be held on the first Saturday of each month from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. Each orientation has 15 available spots. Please register below. We hope to see you soon, and we welcome you to our wonderful volunteer family!
Please fill out the online application or print and fill out the printable application below. Feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org about any other ideas and questions you have about volunteering. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Children who would like to volunteer must be at least 16, accompanied by a parent/legal guardian, and are restricted from direct animal contact (dogs can be walked only with an adult maintaining control of the leash).
While we get many calls for large groups to volunteer, we may not always have a need or opportunity available. Please keep this in mind and give us as much notice for a request as possible. We always appreciate the support. We can always use blankets and in-kind support. Organizing a blanket drive or fundraiser in our name is always a great way to support us!
