Thank you for your interest in volunteering with The Humane Society of the South Platte Valley. Every day we rely on dedicated volunteers to help us with daily operations, quality of life for our animals, special events and adoptions of our dogs, cats and other animals that we have at our shelter.
Our mission is to be a leader in saving lives and serving communities by providing innovative care for our animals, finding loving homes, and reuniting families.
In order to achieve our mission we rely on people like you to donate their time, effort, skills, and funds so we can all succeed in saving our animals and educating the community on animal welfare. Volunteers provide a great resource for The Humane Society of The South Platte Valley your donated hours help our animals stay socialized, find loving homes, and help us receive grants and build a strong organization.
You may begin volunteering after you attend a General Orientation. General Orientations will be held on the 1st Saturday and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 1pm-2pm. Note that if you are interested in dog walking, you are required to attend a General Orientation followed by a Dog Walking Orientation (in that order) before you may begin walking. Dog Walking Orientations will be held on the 2nd Saturday and 4th Tuesday of each month from 2:30pm-3:30pm. We hope to see you soon, and we welcome you to our wonderful volunteer family!
Please print and fill out the application below, and feel free to contact us at email@example.com about any other ideas and questions you have about volunteering. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old or be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Children must be at least 16 and are restricted from direct animal contact, dogs can be walked only with an adult maintaining control of the leash.
While we get many calls for large groups we may not always have a need or opportunity available, please keep this in mind and give us as much notice for a request as possible. We always appreciate the support. We can always use blankets and in-kind support, organizing a blanket drive or fundraiser in our name is always a great way to support us.
