At the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley, our philosophy is all about finding the right match for the homeless animals that find their way to our shelter.
Our goal is to make a match that lasts a lifetime. Our team at HSSPV is here to help you find that special friend. Check out our Adopt a Pet Petscroller below to see the cats and kittens that are available for adoption.
Interested in a cat you see here online? Please contact the shelter at 303-703-2938 to inquire about their current status.
We ask that all potential adopters complete an adoption application to help us determine how the pet will fit into your current lifestyle. All adopters must be at least 18 years of age. We need to have landlord approval prior to adopting to renters. We do not place holds on any pet that is available for adoption. If there are multiple approved adoption applications, the selection of the most suitable home and best match will be made by a drawing.
All members of the family should meet with the new pet. If there are other dogs in the household, we request that the potential adopters go through a “meet and greet” process with their current dog. This helps us and the family determine whether the dogs will get along with each other. In the case of a senior dog, who may be overstressed by visiting the shelter, we will waive the “meet and greet” requirement. We do not have a “meet and greet” requirement for cats. If you are planning to adopt a dog and have cats at home, please ask our staff how the dog is with cats.
